Little Oaks – Annabelle W
Overall, I was very excited when I found out the school would be starting a new nursery opening in Spring/ Summer this year, I was overjoyed. I started thinking about what my future would be like. Perhaps when I’m in sixth form, we can have occasional visits. Honestly, I think RHS is such a amazing place to start education with its vast beautiful grounds and the children can really immerse themselves in the nature.
Little Oaks is a very clever name in my opinion and resonates with me. Being in band, the number of times I’ve played Heart of Oak (only in the two years I’ve been here) is probably countless and I can play most of it from memory. Also, the name reflects on the school’s core beliefs of being strong like an oak tree and will live on. This is also a clever name as the pupils at the nursery can be called little acorns that grow into big oak trees.
I asked some people what they thought about the nursery and this is what they said:
Year 8 pupil: “I think it’s quite cool and it will be nice for the school to have diversity with different aged students”.
Year 9 pupil “I think it’s a good idea, but I wonder if they can allocate pupils to help out in the nursery sometimes for educational work experience”.
Year 8 pupil: “I think it’s a great opportunity to include more numbers and add to the family of RHS”.
Year 10 pupil: “ I think it’s a really good idea to improve the school and it’s reputation”.
I agree with all pupils, and I think if you want to work in education when your older this would be a brilliant opportunity.
