RHS Bachelor (2) – Nanayaa Z
To determine the most eligible bachelorette for Rufus it was only custom that each couple had the chance to experience an actual date to decide whether or not they were the ideal fit. After much deliberation, it was agreed that the infamous RHS “mess date” would be a perfect way to break the ice and get to know each other.
Honor, who was up first, definitely felt the pressure as I caught her giving herself a pep talk during her the end of her period 4. This caused her to be slightly late and left Rufus standing in the watertight contemplating if he should leave or not. Although, this date was not not off to the best of starts, I had hope that their interests would strike some sort of spark. Unfortunately, it seemed I was too overly optimistic as I watched the two eat their lunch in total silence, besides the occasionally sigh. The sight was so agonising that I decided to relieve them of their misery and told them they were free to go.
After the earlier date I doubted that anything could go as badly so was almost excited for the one to come. Speaking to Estelle, beforehand, her eagerness was almost infectious and stated that she was ready for this challenge. I was almost worried for her, but after the torment of watching the prior date, decided that the odds were probably in her favour. During the date, the conversation between the two seemed to flow quite easily, without any forced smiles or laughs, to my astonishment. I began to question if it was too good to be true and was met with my answer when the date came to an end. Unfortunately, it appeared that Estelle’s grip on her tray was not as strong as she had thought, and the world seemed to come to a stand still when her tray crashed onto the floor. However, the embarrassment only heightened when, to my shock, instead of helping her, Rufus laughed and joined in with the cheers. Maybe the date had not gone as well as initially thought.
Finally, it was time with the last date with Issey. Any thoughts regarding any success on this date had diminished greatly, but against better judgment I tried to remain hopeful. With both of them sat down, I prepared myself for another distressing watch. Fortunately, during the date Issey suddenly remembered she was scheduled for a music lesson mid-bite and although she felt bad, left in a hurry. I began to ponder if this was staged or not but concluded it was probably the best out of all three.
Feeling grateful that this was all over, it was time to hear the final decision. I genuinely could not guess who would not be making it to the next round and predicted that all of them would be dumped. However, I was met with sheer speechlessness when Rufus stated that after much consideration, Honor regrettably had to go. Apparently, the girls had placed bets on Issey being dumped after her abrupt exit and thought Honor had a clear chance of winning.
