Mr Ling charged with murder – Riddle Society, WEDNESDAY 3rd OCTOBER

On Tuesday night, Mr Ling was charged with the murder of Mrs Routledge.

Mr Ling, a DT teacher and resident tutor in St Vincent, was also Mrs Routledge’s tennis partner. It appears that he was trying to cover up that fact that he had lost a game of tennis to the 8-months pregnant Mrs Routledge.

The Riddle Society, after piecing together a series of clues, decided to charge Mr Ling with this crime. While some believed that the perpetrator was Mr Routledge or Mr Battman, an overwhelming majority decided that Mr Ling was the guilty party.

The evidence included:

  • extracting DNA from the suspects’ saliva
  • deciphering Miss Cook and Mrs Routledge’s Spanish/French argument in the dining hall
  • using graphs and trigonometry to work out the height difference between the killer and Mrs Routledge
  • looking at the inconsistencies in the suspects’ initial statement

Mr Ling will go on trial on Wednesday 3rd October, charged with murder and child destruction. The presiding judge will be Head Scholar, Dominic Curtis.
