Crowns, Cameras and Climate – Arianna O

King Charles III has officially landed in the United States, and yes , it’s kind of a big deal. The King’s visit is all about keeping the friendship between the UK and the US strong (because apparently texting  isn’t enough for international relations).Even though there has been some concerns , after a shooting incident in Washington DC. A statement on Sunday was given saying “after discussions on both sides of the Atlantic through the day â€œ.

During his visit, King Charles III will meet Donald Trump the White House, which is basically where all the big decisions in the US get made. Their talks are expected to focus on climate change, global security, and how the two countries can work together in the future. King Charles has been talking about environmental issues for years (way before it was trending), so this meeting isn’t just for photos, it could actually lead to real plans and agreements. Also, imagine trying to have a normal conversation knowing the whole world is watching. No awkward small talk allowed.

The visit will also include a range of cultural events designed to celebrate the long history between the UK and the United States. King Charles III is expected to meet charity leaders, young people, and environmental groups, showing that the trip isn’t just about politics but also about  communities. These events help strengthen connections between the ordinary people in both countries, not just leaders. Crowds have already started gathering to see the King in person, with many hoping to snap a photo or at least say they saw a real-life monarch

This is one of his biggest trips since becoming King after Queen Elizabeth II, and people are watching closely to see how he does. No pressure or anything , just representing an entire country.

Overall, the visit shows that the UK and the US are still close allies. Plus, it proves that even in 2026, kings still travel internationally.
