Instagram’s Biggest Baking Hits???- Genevieve

After coming back to school fully loaded with tuck there comes a point where you are not so…fully loaded with tuck. This calamity is met with a (personal) solution: watching other people’s food on Instagram. Brownies, steak, garlic bread- you name it and someone else has made it, posted it, and had me wish I could eat it. Therefore, I thought I’d try and rate some of the best foods I’ve seen so far (and that are currently saved in my ‘Half Term Eating’ section) given all my self-proclaimed experience of food scrolling!

No.1 Vanilla Bean Glazed Doughnuts

@wellmadebykiley

Starting off suppperrr strong is this delicious looking classic. I feel like I can taste the warmth and cosy sweetness of the vanilla just from looking at this photo. The golden exterior genuinely looks like it could melt straight into my mouth (if only) and seems as if it would go perfectly with a hot chocolate- although in the video the baker recommends a coffee so I’m sure that works just as well. The recipe is on her website wellmadebykiley.com and I tried to link the specific page but it got Smooth Walled…. IT just doesn’t want us to get too hungry after all our meals I guess?? On a happier note the entire website looks delicious and I think if I had time I would comment on how amazing each piece looks etc etc and ramble for days- unfortunately I don’t. To conclude, I shall definitely be attempting this over half term so thanks for this hit Instagram it’s a 10/10.

No. 2 Smash Burger Tacos

@ayline.ea

Couldn’t quite keep within the ‘baking’ aspect but Insta has shown some savoury bits tooooo good to miss. These smash burger tacos look absolutely insane, especially with the melted cheese and the special avocado-mustard-garlic-seasoned mayo alongside the beef, which has lots of protein as well so surely this is a massive win- yummy and healthy?! The recipe in the bio only has 5 steps, although a rather long list for the sauce (10 ingredients!) However it looks extremely yummy, so once again another hit from Instagram 9.9/10!

No. 3 S’mores Cinnamon Rolls

@archersfood

Who could have known about the crazy variety of cinnamon rolls??! I have to say though that I’m glad some people in the world like to experiment because these look fire!! And apparently they also taste just like being around a cosy campfire… says the website/recipe: S’mores Cinnamon Rolls — ARCHER’S FOOD With a helpful step by step picture overview, this will definitely be checked out over half term by me. Although there is a 1.5 hour waiting time for the dough to rise and I don’t know if I have the patience to wait that long and thennn bake before I could finally eat these. However, they seem perfect for the gradual transition out of winter into spring (kind of) as these mix later campfire nights with the classic cosy cinnamon buns. I guess there’s only one way to find out so we’ll give it a 9/10 for now!

No. 4 Bananamisu Chocolate Muffins

@desserts

Finishing off with another funky new recipe that I haven’t seen before… Banana/Tiramisu/Chocolate muffins. Yum. This sounds like a crazily good combo that could turn a bad day into an amazing day, especially if it came with a glass of milk or hot drink. The texture on this video looks perfect- a little crunchy, fluffy, and full of gooey chocolate and a tiramisu style filling. Wow wow wow. I am so glad that Tiramisu is trending now and other people can be inventive for us to create things like this! Also, the recipe is linked in the video (easy to search up in case you were wondering…) and seems pretty simple to follow, even if the outcome appears complicated! Double win. Another Instagram baking hit that gets 10/10 from me!
