Meet the Heads of House

Meet the Heads of House

Last Monday, all the heads of house were announced so come find out some more about them!

Toby C- Collingwood

Short bit about you

I am a dog person. What else do you need to know? If you don’t have a dog, the next best thing is sarcasm, and with those two things you will go far in life.

3 words that describe you

Tall, dark and handsome.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

`Maintaining the AMAZING Collingwood house spirit. We are a family in Collingwood. We are brothers. The most important role as HoH is to make sure everyone is part of our brotherhood. Being part of Collingwood is being part of something so much greater than something individually achieved.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

Steak. And lot’s of it! It is Collingwood after all!

Quote from Mr Terry: “Toby is one of those somewhat rare individuals that can tick a huge variety of boxes. He is kind and caring, loyal and passionate, organised and efficient, a hardworking and high achieving pupil, involved in everything that the school offers! Some of this comes from his natural abilities but more from his drive and determination to push himself in everything he does. Most importantly he was appointed because he is highly respected and appreciated by the boys in Collingwood!”

Charlotte F- Hood

Short bit about you

I live and work on a family run farm. I go to Young Farmers and I do competitive long distance horse riding.

3 words that describe you

Outgoing, passionate and caring.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

To keep the friendly environment within Hood and to be someone that anyone can come to for help/advice or just a chat.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

Working alongside the other girls in house and the house staff.

Izzy S- Anson

Short bit about you

Formula 1 lover, Spotify listener, avid reader, hardcore Netflix watcher, star sign geek, Pinterest enthusiast and serious Timothy Chalamet fan!

3 words that describe you

Positive, trustworthy and talkative.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

To encourage the girls to become the best possible versions of themselves and to come out of their comfort zones more, in order to get involved in the great opportunities at school. I also want them to have more house spirit and pride in the house, especially by volunteering for inter-house sport and debating.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

House drama or house shout! I can’t wait for the whole house to come together and to have fun in creating a performance. I’m also really looking forward to house events and parties so the girls can celebrate their achievements from this year.

Quote from Mrs Marvell: “Izzy was chosen for her positive can-do attitude.  Whatever is asked of her, she will always try her hardest to get the best outcome with a ready smile”

Luke R- Hawke

Short bit about you

I love watching and playing football, and I am very open to new experiences.

3 words that describe you

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

I am most looking forward to helping my housemaster and matron throughout the year as much as I can with the huge responsibility I have been given. I am also looking forward to being the representative of the house and helping my fellow house mates as much as possible.

Ollie W- Raleigh

3 words that describe you

Personable, purpose-driven and lively.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

Foster the sense of a house working together to achieve common goals

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

To being able to make others content with their house and to be seen (with my fellow HoH) as approachable and someone who can help.

Quote from Mr Brightwell: “Oliver is involved in so many activities at school. He is always willing to help and is a fantastic role model to the younger pupils.  A genuinely nice person who represents everything we want from an RHS pupil.”

Isabella B- Raleigh

Short bit about you

I am upbeat and optimistic and enjoy being in the company of others. Although I am not very good at sport, I enjoy it and continue to try and improve. I am also very dedicated to always trying to achieve the best results I can in all my subjects, although I am particularly interested in psychology. My less serious interests include food, Netflix and sleep 🙂

3 words that describe you

Lively, optimistic and dedicated.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

I would like to create an environment where everyone feels included and heard; I want Raleigh to be a place all pupils look forward to coming back to.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

I am most looking forward to all the events and traditions that take place within the house, such as house shout and the Christmas party. But also just seeing all of the students in Raleigh building up a sense of community and unity whether that is in family time or while playing pool or air hockey matches (which I always win).

Quote from Mr Brightwell: “Isabella has been a shining light in Raleigh this year. She is always smiling and is incredibly positive. Isabella spends so much of her free time chatting and mixing with the younger pupils. She is such a lovely role model for the house.”

Making new connections with the boys in the house and enjoying being with them at St V.

Izzy B- Cornwallis

Short bit about you

My serious interests include academics, sports and music, however my less serious (and possibly more important) interests would have to be Netflix and (as a proud northerner) curry sauce and gravy.

3 words that describe you

Kind, indecisive and proudly northern.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

By working with Mr Cohen and Matron, I wish to make sure the arrival of girls in Cornwallis is a positive experience for everyone.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

Organising the Christmas party and arguing with Charlie over the house shout song.

Charlie A- Cornwallis

Short bit about you.

I joined the school from Holmwood House in year 9. I have 2 older brothers. I have a huge interest in sport, especially cricket. Over the recent years I have developed a strong interest in maths and economics.

3 words that describe you

Competitive, considerate and ambitious.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

I want to improve the community spirit amongst the house which will be passed on to the future members of the house. I also would like the house to win as many awards as possible. For myself, I would like to improve my time management skills and also my public speaking.

What are you looking most forward to about being HoH?

Taking on new challenges. Holding more responsibility and having to deal with more problems. Finally, working with mr Cohen to help the house in any way possible.

Emma F- Nelson

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

I want to leave behind a legacy, so that I will be remembered as a fair and energetic head of house.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

Definitely party planning and the badge is enough to make anyone want Head of House!!

Mia M- Drake

Quote from Mr Platt: “Mia’s bubbly personality and mature approach, allied to her helpful and compassionate demeanour meant she was always a strong contender for the position of Head of House. She does much unseen work both supporting fellow pupils and offering astute advice.”

Joe A- Drake

Short bit about you

I like to eat everyone else’s food at lunch time and I am not Charlie’s brother.

3 words that describe you

Vibrant, exotic and wonderful.

What do you wish to achieve as HoH?

I hope to make the younger members of the house feel more welcome as well as helping to maintain the inclusive and friendly atmosphere in Drake.

What are you looking forward to the most about being HoH?

Being able to make the ideas and opinions of the pupils known to Mr Platt in order to make Drake a house that is run by all of its members.

Quote from Mr Platt: “Joe was the stand out candidate for Head of House and was an almost unanimous choice from the pupil body feedback. A most caring person he finds time for everyone in the House and is a visible and helpful presence. With a calm authority and light touch he has already made a significant impression.”
