Netball report – Miss Adams
The RHS netball teams have had a busy start to the year with 68 matches having already taken place.
RHS got off to a good start in the opening tournament of the season where both senior teams and the U15B and U14B finished second alongside the U15A and U14A who won their age groups.
Last week RHS played 18 fixtures against New Hall. The juniors had a tough run out against well-drilled teams but positive performances were seen from both A teams who won their final quarters. The U12C team win was a highlight winning 7-4 with excellent shooting from Amelia Vicos.
On Saturday all games were v Woodbridge.
The first ever boys’ team drew 3-3 in a short game and showed promise. The considerable duo of Will Eaton and Oliver Williams in defence kept RHS in the game with lots of interceptions.
The U14A team had an impressive win over Woodbridge, which continues their undefeated season. Olivia Mayers received player of the match for her excellent defence and rebounding throughout the game.
The U15A team lost out marginally in the final few moments of play, however great performances were seen from Mollie Entwistle and Yasmin Gradwick-Light in the centre court. Ella Phelps was player of the match for the U15Bs who won 28-17 and Zoe Neylan for the C team who won 17-5.
The senior teams had a clean sweep against Woodbridge. The 4th team won 6-5, and the third team 22-11 and remain unbeaten this season. Morgan Thompson and Sonia Okechukwu received players of the match.
The second team had a convincing win of 26-19, player of the match went to Holly Folkard-Smith for her accurate shooting throughout the game.
The 1st team put out a solid performance and delivered a consistent performance for four quarters, excellent defence from Anna Khan coupled with precise shooting from Tilly Arulampalam, who both received players of the match, helped RHS to win 33-15.
