Year 13 Summer Plans Pt2!- Genevieve

Year 13 Summer Plans Pt2!- Genevieve

Having had a whole load of sunny weather and clears skies, summer now feels right around the corner. So, what’s everyone up to?

(Side note: lots of Year 13s are busy planning their summer plans- or in fact probably revising- so we only have 2 this week)

James T:

After 7 years at RHS, James’ summer begins with a friends’ trip to Croatia- defo a good way to set the scene for summer! Luckily, he has acknowledged the tragedy of holidays being so expensive, and so has lined up jobs at a racecourse, local golf club and pubs (sounds fancy- good tips hopefully???) With work hopefully all booked in, James wants to spend as much time as he can with his friends, whether that’s going to the beach, parties, races, or just hanging out. A social summer is definitely coming his way… Meanwhile, James also wants to continue his sport through going to the gym, and playing cricket, tennis, and golf. To add in more, James is also undecided on what music festivals to go to although as he says “I’m sure someone will drag me to one last min”, which seems to pretty much sum up the flexibility one needs to survive a festival! Finally, a big family holiday to Menorca at the beginning of September takes up the final days of freedom before James heads off to uni.

Martha S:

Starting on a more local level, Martha is jetting off to Spain and Portugal for 2 weeks (meeting up with Jackie in Portugal for some added fun!) After catching the rays, Martha will be dragged back to the world of work with her lifeguarding- although hopefully she’ll have enough memories from the past 2 weeks to keep her entertained. Next up: who needs to go to Europe when you can go further afield? Martha is going to spend 2 weeks in Zanzibar, East Africa, to volunteer with children and help build schools. I guess you could say school never really leaves you huh? After this, Martha’s coming back for a slight rest before she’s off doing Gold DofE (eek good luck…!) Most likely in need of a well-deserved rest, a few weeks break is scheduled in- until Reading of course. Going for the day with Jackie, Martha’s seeing RAYE !!! Wowoowow so jealous. This definitely seems like a well-balanced, fun summer!
