Lockdown Confessions with the Head of RS and Nelson pupils – Ellie Hewes
This week we have another batch of lockdown confessions for you to delve into! If you have a confession which you would like to share, please do not hesitate to email me!
Mrs O’Callaghan
Smart on top, casual on bottom? No, Miss Shopova reassured SMT last week that’s not what we’re doing.
Two free periods back-to-back or either side of lunch? No, of course I’m not having a daytime nap.
My lockdown confession…I have delved deep into watching ‘reality TV’. This is a new experience for me – the only time I watched X Factor was when Will Young won, and the only reality TV I’ve watched in recent years until now has been Channel 4’s ‘The Circle’ (it’s great – entertaining as well as being an experiment on social media).
I have discovered the current season 6 of ‘Married at First Sight Australia’ – OMG! Which has then led me to go back and start watching the previous seasons and check out the UK version. In fact, last Saturday…let me put it this way…what we were watching on TV finished and we didn’t change the channel, so we ended up watching ‘Gogglebox – Stand Up 2 Cancer celebrity special’. To some girls in Howe I have to say; ‘I’m sorry.’ I think I kinda get it now, it’s entertaining and something I can just relax watching.
Maddy Edmondson – Year 13
When I was first asked to write a lockdown confession I personally did not know where to start as it is hard to choose just one. Partly because aside from binge watching Bridgeton in a single weekend and eating my body weight in Munchies I haven’t been doing a lot. However, myself like most of us have been dragging ourselves away from Netflix and onto Teams and this is where my confession lies. As a few of you may have seen, I am guilty for wearing a leopard print dressing gown during lessons (not appropriate dress I know but it keeps me nice and snuggly). Sometimes I even have my leopard print dressing gown and my leopard print mug. This power combination and sheer coordination really does make me feel organised and like I can face the online lessons with determination.
Chirag Limbu – Year 13
It has only been 21 days into the new year so far and already I have managed to complete all 8 series of the Game of Thrones saga – and no I was not a fan of the ending, so don’t ask me about it. During my quest to finish Game of Thrones, I also took it upon myself as a side quest to attempt to slay the mighty series known as Breaking Bad. It put up a good fight, always keeping me on my toes, however, in the end I have proven triumphant in finishing the whole series. This is yet another achievement I can now add to my collection of ‘stuff I have done as opposed to the work that has been set for me’. Now I begin a new adventure to finish all the movies of the Rocky franchise, time is of the essence… only because Amazon Prime is being constantly taken up by my parents and there is only so long before they take it off.
And that completes this week’s Lockdown Confessions! Join us next week for another batch!
