A few Ukrainian essentials – Polina G.
Today I will talk about important cultural things from Ukraine. Which are still unspoiled and are as they used to be.
I will start from the famous tourist attractions, such as Maidan Nezalezhnosti “Square of independence” which obviously represents an independence of Ukraine which was gained on 26 of August 1991. It happened after the USSR broke down. In addition, if you are ever going to Ukraine, I strongly recommend visiting Lviv and/or Carpathian Mountains. Both have strong cultural heritage, and you can feel it anywhere.
Secondly, Ukrainian food is fascinating; the variety and simplicity of it is amazing. The most famous dish is Borsch, a soup which is cooked for 4 hours and after which beetroot is added to it. This gives it such a bright colour.
Overall, Ukraine is a really nice place to visit and learn more about this foreign country. It is definitely strong representation of Slavic culture.
