After a suspenseful few weeks of waiting, the Year 12s have been put out of their misery with the announcement of who will be your prefects next year. Read on to get to know us a bit better! (PS: not all prefects responded to my email – any not mentioned have been banished from this article by their own cause… Furthermore, any spelling or grammatical errors are no fault but their own)

“I want to try to help make the school a more welcoming place to new pupils and those of younger years, help them settle in quicker and give them people they can chat to or smile at in the corridors”

What was your favourite and least favourite part of the induction day, and why?
“My favourite was Ms King’s interview, I felt completely at ease and we had a really nice conversation. My least favourite was Mr Dixon’s scenarios, it was a challenge to get the answer right as he would mostly come back with a criticism either way- very nerve racking”
What is one difference you plan to make in Year 13 as a prefect?
“I’d really like to have more prefect visits to the other houses, I think it would give the other pupils a chance to properly meet the new prefects.”

“Fav part was definitely the biscuits we got at break, or otherwise hearing what everyone chose to do their presentations on. Least favourite part was probably fumbling around trying to put a tent together with a blindfold on.”

“Try and bring in some more inter-house competition, and more broadly give everyone to opportunity to represent themselves in a wide range of aspects of school life (e.g. sport, drama, music, public speaking)”

What was your favourite and least favourite part of the induction day, and why?
“Favourite = miss kings interview, initially I was scared of all of the interviews but when having the interview as my first activity and having a nice talk with questions I was used to from the practice employee interviews I felt more at ease for the rest of the day. Least favourite = mr Lockyer’s interview, because mr Lockyer did not show any kind of responsiveness to my responses to his questions which was slightly nerve racking as I couldn’t tell whether i was responding correctly. In addition to this some questions caught me off guard”
What is one difference you plan to make in Year 13 as a prefect?
“I would like for family time to be a event that was on every other week rather than every week, because I think it is necessary for it to be on every week as sometimes it is not as productive as desired as well as lacking in pupil engagement as they would rather be doing work etc.”

“My favorite part was probably the marching, it was our first activity and probably the one I was most worried about but it was actually really fun.”

“I hope to be a good role model to those in younger years and act as a representative for them. I hope we can all make the pupil body of RHS feel heard and like they can help make changes that would benefit the school community.”
